Gettin it Done

While Kenzi was here, we got so much done! I'll add pictures as I get our arts and crafts as I find places for them. Or figure out HOW to hang them!

I painted my living room, which I'm super psyched about. What I'm not so psyched about is how I kept getting paint all over my shirt! Luckily It was just a tank-top undershirt I could throw away after I was done..

Kenzi and I right before we died her hair. It was nothing too crazy - just a little darker than it was before. She always looks beautiful, but now she's just a little cuter!

Thanksgiving

This year we spent Thanksgiving in Oregon down in Medford with my Momma Barber. The weeks started off with McKenzi flying in on Tuesday, which was so amazingly fun! She was my partner in crime all week, and I so wish she would just move in with us.

Everyone talking at Mom's house. I think this picture looks like it should be in a magazine!

Kenzi sleeping the day away. Her sleep schedule was finally somewhat normal by Friday ...but she went home on Saturday, so I'm not sure it'll stay that way!

Ethan also sleeping - this meant we got to eat Thanksgiving dinner in peace, which is truly something to be thankful for!

The table centerpiece which was so creative and beautiful.

The family went four-wheeling before the dinner. I didn't join them because those things freak me out, but everyone else had a blast and came back super muddy. Which was cool, because I already had Ethan's clothes in the wash - not because they were muddy though. They were brown for another reason..

Haha...this picture looks like he's trying to seduce you! I'm Boaz ...Ethan Boaz.

Great-Grandma Turner having a blast with babes.

The center-piece at the kiddie table. What a good idea to use wrapping paper!

Ok, this picture doesn't do our night justice, but this was the funniest moment of our week! Brit decided to wrestle with Kade, who owned him time after time. And each time, Brit thought "This time I'll get him!" The best part was when Kade went to give him a wedgie but realized Brit went commando that day! "Born free...free as the wind blows..."

A small family pic the day after Thanksgiving. We were exhausted from having Ethan sleep in our bedroom. He's teething, so he screamed for half of it. Ugh...we are all going to be psyched when all his teeth are in! Poor little guy.

We really appreciate all the meals cooked for us and your hospitality, Mom. We had a blast and won't forget our wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. Also, I'd like to give a shout-out to my parents in South Dakota who empty-nested it this year. They ran (yes, I said RAN) a 5k on Thanksgiving, then headed to the Black Hills to hike Harney Peak. How cool is that?

Split

I don't even know how this happened, but somehow Ethan ended up in this awesome split position. He's cool without even trying to be!

New Moon

This weekend has been magnificent so far! Why, you ask? Because New Moon came out! Agh!! I've been geeking out all week, and the day I went to see the movie, I was so giddy I couldn't stop smiling. This weekend, New Moon set a new opening day record, making $72.7 million its first day. And I can see why! This movie was way better than the first. All the characters looked better, they could actually act this time around, and somehow I was converted to team Jacob - which I never thought would happen.

I started the night by meeting Melody and her sister at 8:30 to head over to the theater. We were seriously all like little school girls on the way to the theater - which is the way mature adults act, right? I have to say, there was ONE disappointment - I really hoped there would be a life-sized cutout of Robert Pattinson to take a picture with. Oh well.

We then walked into utter chaos upon going to the theater! With pre-pubescent girls running around the whole time, I kind of wanted to bang my head against a wall. Also, there was more than one teenage couple that definitely needed to get a room! Hmm..I wonder what they did during the movie..

Cassie, Melody, and I SO excited waiting in line

The huge weirdo I sat by...she didn't stop talking to me the whole movie!

Us right before the movie started. The anxiety and excitement in the theater was just NUTS!

Twi-Hard

I'm gearing up for the New Moon premier and I'm SO PUMPED I can hardly stand it! Yes, it's so embarrassing, I'm joining the ranks of annoying, emotional 13-year-old girls everywhere. I LOVE Edward Cullen and Jacob Black. I read the books while dating Billy, so I think I fell in love with those characters while falling in love with Billy. They are basically a part of our marriage, but Billy doesn't know that (shhh...don't tell him).

Reasons I love the Twilight series:

1. Definitely NOT the writing
2. The sexual tension can be cut with a knife
3. Edward Cullen
4. Edward Cullen's whole family - they are fascinating
5. Jacob Black and his wherewolf friends - and the fact that they are all shirtless in the next flic
6. Edward's sparkly skin
7. The fact that Dakota Fanning is in the next movie - love her
8. How cool are vampires? My girl-friend Mary-Anne LOVES them - she's basically obsessed
9. I really wish I had a cool cape to wear to the movie theater
10. Fangs too - I wish I would have gotten fake fangs over Halloween, those would've been cool
11. Ok, so there isn't a TON to love about the series. All I can say is that it's addicting and exciting

After careful consideration, I decided against going to the actual premier. Mostly because I don't want to be around teenage pre-pubescent girls for 10 hours just to get a decent seat. I'm going on Friday night and it will be unforgettable!

While I love Edward and Jacob, Kristen Stewart I could do without. Here is a pic of her next to McCulley Culgan. They're basically twinners. She's gross.

Britt & Ethan

Britt was the world's best uncle this past week, and Ethan absolutely adored him. It was wonderful to watch!

6 Month Stats

Height: 27.25 inches - 75th percentile
Weight: 19.13 - 80th percentile
Head Circumference: 46cm - 95th percentile

I can't believe my little baby is growing up!

Ethan is in the best mood when he wakes up in the morning and from his naps. I try to take advantage of those times by playing with him - because they don't normally last that long!

His head is huge, huh?

Play Date

My mom had a work meeting here, so I decided to watch Britt while she was gone. Since I know two cute little twins his age, I thought it'd be fun to have them over. Turns out he's a real gentleman!

Notice how the twins are totally hogging the movie! Britt didn't say a word - he just let them do their thing.

Ok i had to take this pic to show you how the girls are with toys. Layla has the tissue paper next to her, her feet on the piano, while playing with the monster toy!

Playing Around

Ethan had an absolute blast with Mee-maw and Britt around to play with. Britt was the best uncle, and Mee-maw had a blast tickling Ethan!

Britt wore his Halloween pajamas and posed for a few pictures..

Ethan decided to let his teeth make an appearance...

Look at that sweet smile! Nothing beats this!

Grandma Knows Best

Mee-Maw Barber came to visit this last week and we ended up having a blast! My 3-year-old little brother had a Dr. appointment at the children's hospital in Portland, so we decided to mix business with pleasure.

Ethan loved having someone to charm and flirt with! I think Mee-Maw loved it too.

Mom making Chicken Parmesan. It was AMAZING!

The wonderful, amazing sauce that went over the chicken. I think I can still taste it!

Britt fooling around while we made dinner. He is ALWAYS moving.

Billy still talks about her chicken parmesan. In fact, he asked me how I could change the way I cook chicken so it would taste more like hers! I warmed up the dog house for him.

Toys Toys Toys

My little man LOVES his toys! Thank goodness for the businesses who manufactures them. He especially loves his smiley-face toy; however, he's constantly hitting himself in the face with it. I guess you could say they're frenemies.

Sunday Kid Quotes

Things I caught myself or other leaders saying yesterday...

"When you stick your middle finger up at someone, that's rude."

"Bubble. Remember I have a bubble."

"Just because you SAY you popped my bubble, doesn't mean I don't have one anymore."

"Sit on your bum, that is what it's for."

"Stay out of my bubble."

"SERIOUSLY, sit on your chair, not on me!"

And, my personal favorite, "Put your hands up buddy, we don't play with our crotch at church." - Yikes!

Halloween and Zebras

Turns out Halloween is so much more fun when I have a cute little midget to dress up!

Ethan and I before going to the trunk or treat

Ethan actually loved his costume! He couldn't stop smiling at himself in the mirror.

This is the Swift's trunk filled with spookiness, dry ice, and.. well.. Jackson!

Billy and I leaving the trunk or treat. Ethan had had enough by this point. No more smiling and flirting!

Ethan pooped out! Apparently all that attention and spookiness really wipes a kid out.

Car Wreck

As Billy was driving home last week, some jerk-face side-swiped him. Billy was definitely shaken up, but luckily no one was hurt! Definitely not looking forward to the hassle of working with the insurance companies to fix the problem...
