Doernbecher's

So, I have been a total slacker since Ethan was born, but I figure I have an excuse as I am a new mother! Life has been absolutely NUTS since Ethan was born, and now my life is dictated by a 4-week old. Who knew something so tiny could be so incredibly demanding and lovable at the same time? (And it's a good thing he's lovable because I am not exaggerating about the demanding part) This kid I'm pretty sure can out-eat any other baby - seriously, he eats 24/7.

2 weeks ago we had to take him to Doernbecher's children's hospital (shown below) for surgery which was traumatic and we're so glad it's over! He had pyloric stenosis which means everything he ate came right back up in the form of a TON of projectile vomit! Luckily we have such an amazing hospital so close by (in Portland) - he was well taken care of with lots of doctors and residents by his side.

On a light note, as we were taking Ethan back up to his room after surgery, the doctors asked me if I had seen Winnie the Pooh yet. I was startled and a little upset, thinking he was referring to some life-sized Winnie the Pooh visiting the Ped's floor. If you know me well, you know I HATE Pooh - and a life-sized version would scare the crap out of me. Haha...anyway, he was just referring to one of Ethan's bandaids so it turned out to be no big deal. Below is a pic of him before we took his bandaids off - as you can see, his face doesn't react to milk very well. Billy and I joke that this is what he'll look like when he's going through puberty - this kid is freaking awesome!

Ethan Andrew Boaz

May 2, 2009 is the second best day of our lives! We were blessed with the MOST BEAUTIFUL baby in the entire world! Ethan Andrew Boaz was born at 10:52pm, was 19 inches, and weighed in at 7 pounds 11 ounces. Being parents is definitely tiring, but so well worth it. Included are some photos from his first photoshoot!
